Chiltern Technology has provided security systems for the new Fellowes Plain residential development in Norwich. The historic buildings, that once formed part of the listed Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, have been transformed into an exciting new village quarter of 286 apartments by Charles Church, part of the Persimmon Group. The scheme offers a mix of accommodation, which has been designed so that the traditional exterior of the buildings give no hint as to the sleek and modern open-plan interiors which lie within.
Chiltern Technology was involved with the development from the planning stage and throughout the construction process, providing the latest security features for this prestigious new development. Chiltern Technology worked closely with the electrical contractor to design and install a digital door entry system and automated gates to the car park, providing a cost-effective solution to prevent unauthorised entry. Residents use a proximity key fob to gain entry to the building through any of the exterior doors. As the fobs do not require any direct contact with the reader they are quick and easy to use and they do not even have to be removed from wallets, purses or handbags, as they work through these materials.
In addition, each apartment has an audio handset that is easily upgradeable, without any additional wiring, to a full colour video monitor, providing the property owner with high quality images of visitors that they can then let in at their discretion.
