Chiltern Technology has introduced an ingenious, cloud-based CCTV solution CT Cloud with Xanview technology inside.
CT Cloud makes video surveillance fast and simple, using intuitive, smartphone operation.
A Chiltern CT TimeBox is fitted in a home or office. Any ONVIF compatible CCTV camera can be connected to it. The CT TimeBox manages the recording of the camera’s video and audio streams in the cloud. Once set up, CT Cloud enables users to view and listen to cameras at a site using their smartphone or PC, via Chiltern Technology’s secure CT Cloud website.
For live viewing, camera views are presented as thumbnails and the user simply clicks on the camera they want to see.
When searching for a specific site event, thumbnails of site events are presented as a simple grid, in reverse order of occurrence. Clicking on the relevant image plays back the corresponding video.
To search by time, CT Cloud presents thumbnail images from recorded cameras in 1 minute intervals and then 5 second intervals, so users can click through to the relevant video very quickly.
CT Cloud only presents thumbnail images, until the video stream is viewed, so the system is instant and does not use much data.
A CT TimeBox system starts at 2 cameras and goes up to 100. The CT Cloud website provides a user log for the system administrator. The website tracks who has used the system and allocates camera access or site access to users.
Real-time cloud management
Chiltern Technology can manage staff and visitor white lists for clients in real time. The system links staff or visitors to a smartphone, which is then used like a proximity card for entry. CT Cloud allows the white list to be managed in real-time by enabling or disabling the phone. Chiltern can manage entry for known visitors in advance, or in real-time as people arrive on site.
Access can can also be denied to individuals in real time, if required.
