Chiltern manages HikVision ANPR cameras with Aimetis VMS

Chiltern has used HIKVision automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras on a Manor House near Aylesbury.
The Manor House is a National Trust property and the cameras are used to manage and coordinate vehicle access through ten separate barriers around the estate.
The HIKVision ANPR solution can be pre-configured with ANPR firmware (stored on a SD card and held within the camera). This includes white lists and black lists of vehicle number plates. The white lists comprise vehicles of staff working on the estate, who are allowed access, as well as bus drivers transporting visitors from the car park to the house. When their vehicle is recognised, automatic barriers on the estate open and close to allow access.
Chiltern manages the ten ANPR cameras through an Aimetis VMS system. This ensures black and white lists are maintained from a single position and remain current at all times. Most importantly, if there is a loss of network connectivity across the large estate, which includes a number of wireless links, the HIKVision cameras continue to work, allowing access to white listed vehicles without disruption.
