Danyon Hume, sponsored by Chiltern Technology Ltd, has recently been signed by Ipswich Witches.
The 19 year-old, an ex-trials rider, has raced just one season of speedway and recorded a National League average of 3.79 in his debut campaign.
Graham Johnson, MD of Chiltern Technology explained, “We are very proud of Danyon. He is an excellent rider, works hard and has delivered exceptional results. We congratulate him on his signing.”
The youngster, from Buckingham, is excited about the move, but recognises the opportunity his old team has given him. “I cannot thank Rye House enough for their efforts and track time over the past year, but I know this will be a great move for me and just can’t wait to get started”, commented Danyon.
There is a lot of good feeling around Danyon’s signing. Not only did his former club, Rye House, have Danyon’s wishes and interests at heart in allowing the move, but it also donated half of the transfer fee to the Speedway Riders Benevolent fund; a very special gesture.
Danyon is highly enthusiastic and motivated, “I am looking to get settled into a National League team and it would be great to get that sorted out quickly. I’m really looking forward to working with all the guys at Ipswich. I am good friends with Danny and his mechanic Richard who have helped me so much over the last year. Chris (Louis) was also a big help towards the end of the season, when I made regular visits to Foxhall to gain more experience.”
Chiltern Technology Ltd looks forward to watching Danyon’s progress at the Ipswich Witches and wishes him all the best as he takes on his new challenge.
